Need a GP referral?

Most colonoscopy procedures require a referral from a GP or specialist. If you do not have a referral, you can:

✓ Visit your regular GP

or

✓ Book a consultation with one of our Telehealth GP Referral Partners.

Patients can often obtain a GP assessment from home, with appointments frequently available the same day or within a short timeframe. If clinically appropriate, the GP can provide a referral, which can then be submitted to DirectColonoscopy for coordination.

✔ Specialist referral available where clinically appropriate

Patients are free to consult their own GP or any GP of their choice. Telehealth GP partners are provided as a convenient option for patients who do not currently have a referring doctor.

Why we partner with telehealth GPs

DirectColonoscopy works with selected Australian telehealth GP providers to help patients who:

  • do not currently have a GP referral
  • cannot see their regular GP promptly
  • prefer the convenience of an online consultation
  • are travelling or living remotely

All clinical decisions remain with the treating GP, who will determine whether referral for colonoscopy or gastroenterology assessment is appropriate.
